In this report:
■ August weather in Ukraine: moderate warmth, with an average temperature of 22.3°C, but an exceptionally dry month. While July brought 69 mm of rainfall, August saw only around 19 mm. This increased the need for irrigation during the peak ripening period. No frosts were recorded.
■ Blueberry prices reached a seasonal low: during the peak of domestic harvesting, prices fell to approximately UAH 135–240/kg, with farm-gate prices around UAH 100/kg. At the same time, crop losses caused by spring frosts continue to put producers under pressure, creating a “low price + low volume” situation.
■ Raspberry prices increased: during the gap between the summer and autumn (primocane) harvests, retail prices rose to approximately UAH 230–270/kg.
■ The 2025/26 export season closed with a record: Ukrainian raspberry exports generated €250.8 million (+65% year-on-year). The new 2026/27 season also opened at high prices — in June, Ukrainian raspberries were exported at an average price of €4.14/kg (Eurostat data through June 2026).
■ Ukraine is the world leader in net exports of frozen raspberries. Due to Serbia’s production collapse — its lowest harvest in 30 years — and frost damage in Poland, Ukraine has a strong chance of becoming the global leader in the 2026/27 season not only in net exports, but also in gross export volume.
■ Regulation and key industry events: UAH 440 million in government grants for horticulture and berry production; the MRL for ethephon in blueberries remains in force; September negotiations with the European Commission on quotas; and leading international trade fairs as key platforms for export contracting.
